The motto of the u3a is Learn, Laugh, Live; those of us who are members of the Sherburn and Villages branch, certainly find plenty of opportunities for all of these things. Originally, u3a was aimed at retired or semi-retired people. Now, there is no upper or lower age limit, and anyone who is not in full-time employment is welcome.
u3a is a self-help movement where members organise their own interest groups, enabling like-minded people to come together. Sherburn and Villages currently has almost 600 members, whose 50 or so groups cover a diverse range of topics at very little cost - and if you can't find the group you're looking for - we can help to put you in touch with members who can support you in starting a new one!
